Oiled Wildlife Search and Rescue Training

Islands` Oil Spill Association (IOSA) is offering another opportunity for islanders to get free training and be prepared to help in the event of an oil spill that could affect seabirds and other wildlife in the area. In this class, participants will learn about bird species most likely to be impacted by an oil spill, how to effectively search for oiled birds and various strategies and techniques for stalking, capture and handling. IOSA is a non-profit, community-based oil spill response group and the only spill response organization in the San Juan Islands. Admission Free. NOTE: Pre-registration is required.
